Oakley approached us with a simple idea: make a tool case to fit a Crank Bros. mini tool and ratchet. They were a little tricky, but they came out great. We made them from thin waxed canvas with a top flap and brass center stud closure. They also have a flat rear pocket to hold a credit card and cash.
These are made for cyclocross and mountain bike mechanics to keep in their pocket at the start line, in case of any last minute adjustments need to be made. Jeff Tiedeken (Monkey Likes Shiny) did the logo work on the ratchets and Mr. Blick at Oakley got them into the right hands. Rumor has it that Tom Hopper (J Pow's mechanic) uses one!
We thought it would be helpful to show you how to fold up your Road Wrap and attach it to your saddle.
Two pockets allow for a patch kit, credit cards, cash and an ID.
Probably to most critical part of the process. This can vary how you line it up, based on how big your tool and levers are. We recommend dropping it all in the center, without making it too "tall" of a pile.
Our friends at Sim Works in Japan just a batch of our newest design: The Road Wrap. A simple and classic tool wrap for your bicycle. It will hold a 700c tube, mini-tool, tire levers and has two pockets for a patch kit, credit cards and cash. They cinch down under your saddle with a vegetable-tanned leather strap and a stainless steel Kashimax toe strap buckle.
More colors are on the way and we will have some available shortly.
